Time and time again we've heard about whales beaching themselves ,sometimes alone or sometimes a whole pod, and then when they get pushed out to sea we often hear of them going back to the beach , so my hunch is that for some reason when they beach themselves it's not accidental ....it's not the tide pushing them up or whatever ...it may be some sort of ritual for dying .. either they're weak , have illness , or maybe their doing it because their leader is dying so maybe occasionally healthy ones do it for solidarity.... just guessing but seems to me that whales are more than strong enough to prevent themselves from being beached ...it must be another reason... they must WANT to be there
